So I think it would be a good idea if all registered parties would log into www.wug.za.net and use the WUG plotter to add your location to the kml file if you havn't done so already.

If you get stuck, follow the directions on http://www.wug.za.net/startwugnet.php

Will be a good way to keep track of user locations.

We are planning a tower on Theescomb Hill. This will cover most of Lorraine an surrounding areas.

Why not come to the meet. We can then discuss other options as well...

RE Iburst.. I told them that when I put up that tower.. And they are paying R11 000 p/m for thier current site at Lovemore! When I had a solution with better location for about half the price... they did not get back to me.. so yeah, signal is not the best.. but since the install at Linton has moved from ontop of the spar to the telkom tower there is a big improvement...

Regarding signal from the first tower... line of site from the tower goes to about in line with smallville, which is where some tall trees get in the way.. If you want to understand that better come to the meeting! :-)

I think the second tower could take care of those that need signal east of that area (East of Gardens Shopping Centre).

    Hi Herm

Make sure you got the correct formating of the GPS coords. I know Google use the degree formating while others use the decimal format.

Ok so i checked my coords again.

    at wug.za.net it is:
    Latitude (N/S) 33.9920722222 33°59'31.452"
    Longitude (E/W) 25.5378472222 25°32'16.26"

I'm around the Corner from the pewug-lmh tower (33°59′26.39″S; 25°31′43.69″E) yet when i want to check line of sight the site still tells me i'm 7000km away.

Clearly I'm doing something wrong, but i can't figure out what.

    Help plz!!!

    Hey Herm

We are in the process of loading google maps on the site. Once that is up it should give you a more accurate reading of position and LOS.

Hmm.. now that I've downloaded the KML file it doesn't look like I can get LOS to the current highsite.. there's this great darn hill in the way..

Has the location for the next proposed tower been added to the list?

Just wondering, is there any intention of there being a tower put up in summerstrand?

High sites do not materialize out of thin air - someone has to pay for them.

We have the ability to hook to a high site in summerstand should the need arise, but the R6K odd required to put the site up has to be paid for my the users of that site.

This is a very old thread you hooked onto, but we currently have 3 high-sites up and running ( Lovemore heights, Westring, Thesecombe )

We have started receiving donations for a highsite in parkdrive area, and i guess once that is up we'll look at other sites.....
